Spiral Conveyors
One continuous track, wound around a column. It is how NEXUS moves goods between levels without giving up floor space.
The principle
One track, wound around a column
A spiral conveyor takes goods up or down on a continuous track wound around a central column. Because the track never stops, goods keep moving through the change of level, and the machine occupies a fraction of the floor an inclined run of the same rise would need. NEXUS spirals run upwards, downwards or bidirectionally, and are used for vertical conveying, accumulation and process time.
Entry and exit orientation is what makes a spiral fit a given layout. NEXUS works from a defined set of entry and exit configurations, A to H, so the direction goods arrive from and leave towards can be selected rather than improvised. The conveying surface is a slat chain designed and manufactured by NEXUS in Taiwan.
The family
One spiral for each job on the line.
Powered Spiral Conveyors
Driven spirals. They can be specified for upward, downward or reversible operation.
-
Unit Load Spiral Conveyor
A driven slat-chain spiral that raises and lowers unit loads — cartons, crates and totes — on one continuous track, in a fraction of the floor an incline would need.
-
Narrow Track Spiral Conveyor
A spiral built on a narrower track, for smaller goods that do not need the full slat width.
-
Dual Track Spiral Conveyor
Two conveying tracks on one spiral structure, where a single column has to carry two runs.
-
Zone-Controlled Spiral Buffer
Zero-pressure accumulation for changing production flow.
-
Spiral Accumulation Conveyor
A spiral where product gathers on the track, keeping flow between two process steps.
Gravity Spiral Conveyors
Unpowered. Downward only, by gravity.
-
Gravity Roller Spiral Conveyor
Unpowered rollers set along a spiral track, carrying rigid goods downwards without a drive and without power.
Across the family
What the spirals carry.
-
Cartons
Cartons moving between levels on a driven slat chain.
-
Crates
Plastic crates carried on a spiral track in the factory.
